Midjourney is a statement project; a movie and a building proposal, questioning perpetual design, the place of ego. Inspired by humanity’s rich history of change, an investigation of the possibility to create adaptable, ever-changing buildings. We live in a time with no precedent and going forward to the fourth industrial revolution, the only solution is integrating technology and nature. Our future and our roots.  

This is an exploration of the limits of hempcrete – a sustainable material with many benefits, however lacking structural strength. Innovative hemp and timber panels provide a modular solution, allowing fast and adaptable construction. Materials are locally sourced, helping Harlech’s economy. Rural and bio-based, yet futuristic, with drone-builders and technology such as electrochromic windows.  

A manufacture facility, producing construction panels, itself built from them, showcasing the system. An attempt to challenge the way we currently design buildings to create a circular economy, based both on technology and nature.
